Plant A Pea Patch In Boston

FUNDED April 23 2013 – Thank You!

TheFoodProjectBostonSince 1991, The Food Project has farmed more than forty acres in and around Boston. Annually, they provide employment for 150 teenagers from low income neighborhoods as well as receiving support from thousands of volunteers.

By planting vegetable gardens in urban spaces, they bring fresh produce to those who can’t afford it. The Food Project’s teenagers also work farmer market stands to learn job skills, volunteer at local food banks and soup kitchens, teach peers about healthy eating choices, and build backyard gardens in low-income neighborhoods. Their efforts create green spaces to learn and work, and their actions simply can be called inspiring.

The Food Project
is typical of the grass root organizations that we support, proving that even the smallest actions, like making a click or planting a seed, can grow to a greater good for people, animals, and the planet.
