Make 1,500 Sandwiches For the Hungry

FUNDED July 19 2013 – Thank You!

Northwest Harvest has teamed up with GreaterGood to launch Operation Sandwich to fight back against hunger. This Seattle food bank’s lunchtime sandwich program helps working poor, senior citizens, and the homeless avoid hunger or stretch their family’s food budget by providing them with a nutritious sandwich in the middle of the day.

Unfortunately, although demand was high, the food bank had to discontinue their Friday sandwich distribution due to lack of funds.

GreaterGood stepped in. With our new signature program, Operation Sandwich, we’re funding Friday sandwich distribution throughout 2013. GreaterGood staff and other local volunteers prepare sandwiches every week.

Your support here will help us expand this program and take it to other food banks across the country.

All rescued animals deserve a good home, but for most shelter animals in remote areas, the likelihood of adoption is slim. Moving these lovable furry friends to more populated locations greatly increases their chances for adoption. Animal Lifeline has teamed up with GreaterGood and the International Fund For Animal Welfare (IFAW) to make sure these animals are transported safely and responsibly.
