Help Save the Critically Endangered Grauer’s Gorilla

44,000 daily clicks funded this project on March 22 2017 – thank you!

The Grauer’s gorilla is the world’s largest ape, weighing up to 400 pounds. In 2016, it was classified as Critically Endangered. Scientific research showed a shocking decrease of Grauer’s gorillas due to illegal hunting and civil unrest in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) works with partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond to ensure gorilla population remains stable through ranger training, patrol, intelligence networks, and more. WCS also ensures that local communities have sustainable sources of livelihood—providing both food and income—so locals do not need to hunt apes or encroach into protected forests. With your donation WCS can continue to provide these services in areas that need it most.

Help Veterans Restore and Preserve Coral Reefs

42,000 daily clicks funded this project on March 15 2017 – thank you!

Home to one-quarter of the world’s marine life, coral reefs are critically important for food, income, protection and new medicines. They are some of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet, yet 60% of the world’s coral reefs are now dead or in decline. For combat veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, moving on from the pain and trauma they’ve experienced can be almost impossible. To better assimilate, these men and women must be made to realize that they are not alone and that their skills and training are transferable. For our participating veterans, FORCE BLUE provides a new mission: a chance to learn about and explore one of the most critically endangered ecosystems on the planet and the opportunity to adapt their training and teamwork to aid in its protection.

Help Send 11 Children to Nature Camp

110,000 daily clicks funded this project on March 6 2017 – thank you!

There are only an estimated 4,000 to 6,500 snow leopards left in the wild today. Mongolia serves as a crucial region for the snow leopard habitat, where it faces multiple threats to its survival including retaliatory persecution by herders resulting from livestock attacks, poaching for trade in pelts and bones, and habitat degradation and fragmentation. Many children who live in snow leopard habitat in Mongolia’s South Gobi region have little awareness about the plight of the snow leopard and about the rare wildlife and plants in their midst. The Snow Leopard Trust runs summer nature camps in the mountains of South Gobi each year for an average of 40 children. The camps provide a joyful and engaging experience, and help to open up the natural world to children and to foster positive attitudes towards snow leopards. You can help. Just $30 helps transport ten children to the mountains of South Gobi to attend nature camp!
