Couple Purchases Home with Abandoned Dog Tied to Tree, Gives Her the Best Life Ever

Most of us would find it unthinkable to move away and leave our pets behind to fend for themselves, but we are reading about it with increasing frequency these days, and it's happened yet again. Molly, an adorably affectionate pibble believed to be age 10, found herself tied to a backyard tree after her owners up and left her.

The story was recently picked up by The Dodo but has quickly made the rounds. Evidently, when the house was sold, Molly and the family cat's owners rejected the idea of bringing them along. There's no information on why that was, where they were moving to, or even where they had moved from.

While the cat was reportedly allowed to roam free, Molly was tied up outside to wait alone until she was rescued. Fortunately for her, the couple who purchased the property agreed to include the animals in their closing agreement. As soon as pen was set to paper and the home was legally theirs, they rushed over to check on the pair.

April Parker, the new homeowner, can be seen in a TikTok video approaching poor Molly, who is obviously confused and sad. But jump to Parker gently cooing, "Baby girl, you're gonna get a new home," and Molly immediately transforms.

"We are going to make her life so good," Molly's new mom wrote in the video's caption. "She will never be left all alone tied to a tree."

To date, the video has been viewed well over 4 million times, with many people commenting on how upset they were at seeing a dog treated so indifferently.

Followup videos reveal Parker freeing the velvety pibble from her leash and introducing Molly to her husband, whom she seemingly adored instantly. Dogs are pretty good judges of character, and Molly likely sensed that she was in the presence of two kindhearted individuals who would care for her.

Since her rescue, it looks as if Molly has been able to accompany her new paw-rents everywhere. "She’s sticking to our side," Parker wrote. "She won't stop following us around. It's so sweet." She's probably a bit nervous about letting them out of her sight and possibly losing a good thing. One of those good things she now gets to enjoy is car rides.

And Molly's not the only one adjusting well to the change in ownership. Apparently, the cat is doing well, too. Plus, Molly now has two new indoor cat siblings who wasted no time welcoming her into their family unit. One of the videos Parker took depicts one of the cats comforting a frightened Molly during a thunderstorm.

Since adopting the sweet dog, Parker has created a TikTok channel to share Molly's journey. Named "Molly's New Life," viewers get to see Molly enjoying things like warm baths, treats, and lots of cuddles — everything a pup could ask for in life. Check out the videos below, including this one where a somewhat bewildered but patient Molly has a "Barbie" moment.
