Dog Who Spent His Entire 10 Years Of Life In Shelter Finally Has A Place To Call Home

A dog who has known nothing but kennel bars his whole life has finally found a loving home.

Arcanine, a yellow lab mix, first arrived at the Converse Animal Shelter in Texas back in March of 2013 when his owner surrendered him as a puppy, through no fault of his own.

For the next decade, Arcanine would sit in his kennel, hoping someone would love him enough to give him a home, but that day never came.

The shelter staff describes Arcanine as a "really chill dog," who loves playing with his toys and going on walks.

Since he is such a great dog, shelter staff never had any clue as to why no one ever wanted to adopt him.

The shelter's trainer, Tracy Guastella, believes one reason he may have kept getting overlooked is because he has a loud kennel-mate, so people tend to walk right by his cage without noticing him laying down in the back.

Luckily, the day Arcanine has been waiting for the last ten years has finally come!

Joshua McCommons and his girlfriend Filly Rodriguez saw Arcanine's story on KENS 5 news and knew right away that they wanted to adopt him.

They did a meet-and-greet with him first, which went extremely well, and then they broke him free from his kennel and brought him home.

For the first time in his ten-year life, Arcanine will finally know what it's life to have a real home and loving family.

Max Golman, owner of Lucy's Doggy Daycare and Spa, also saw Arcanine's story, and offered him a "lifetime of spa treatments because he deserves all the pampering."
