Check Out The Largest Lizard In The World And Its Impressive Jumping Skills As It Hunts For Prey
Some creatures are scary based on their looks alone, and then there are some who may look fluffy and cuddly in appearance but are known to be capable of harming humans and even killing large animals as well. Note that the video in the linked article might be gruesome to some, but nature is wild, to say the least.
Another set of terrifying creatures is the cold-blooded ones.
Gators and crocodiles, for example, are known to be aggressive. It’s best to steer clear of them and hope for the best, because if you get close to one, it’s hard to run or swim away from them, as they can swim or run from 24-35 miles per hour. Climbing on something is your best bet, but you better make sure that you reach as high as possible, because these big fellas are still able to jump up to 6 feet in the air!
Another seemingly out-of-this-world cold-blooded animal is the Komodo Dragon.
They may not be actual dragons, but they are known to be the largest living lizard on the planet; they are able to grow up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 330 pounds! Man, imagine seeing a Komodo dragon crawling up your wall. Thankfully, they’re incapable of that, but still… Eek.
Don’t be fooled by their intimidating size though! Komodos may not be able to climb walls due to their weight, but they’re still able to jump as high as around 5 feet.
Komodo dragons aren’t fond of jumping, but when they see a potential meal hanging from a tree, they won’t hesitate to use their leg muscles to reach their prey.
TRIGGER WARNING: The video below shows a Komodo dragon hunting and snatching a fruit bat that’s hanging from a tree. Please just note that you’ll be able to hear the cries of the Komodo dragon’s prey at around the 3:30 mark, but you’ll be able to see how the Komodo dragon jumps before that. Viewer discretion is advised.
