Bird Shows Love and Dedication to Eggs that Will Never Hatch
Three lovely eggs!
For this birdie mom, that's quite an accomplishment -- and that's despite the fact that she has no mate.
She's proud to show her lovely eggs to the whole world, and how she protects them and sits on them patiently so they will hatch. Honey, this birdie mom's name, may be hoping for a miracle because, after all, love can work wonders.
But is it really possible for birds to lay eggs even without males?
According to The Spruce Pets, "It's not uncommon, but not normal, for female birds to lay eggs without a male bird being present. If you find an egg in your parakeet's cage, you're probably wondering how it happened, what to do with it, and whether or not it will hatch. If you have a female bird who lays eggs without a mate, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to see a baby bird or that the egg will hatch. Unless the hen has been exposed to a male bird before the egg or eggs were laid, the egg will not be fertile. In this case, most bird owners remove the egg from the cage and throw it away."

But not Honey's human mom. She promised her pet bird that she would not take her eggs away from her. Many of us can understand that, especially when our pets look so excited to be a mom.
However, Honey accepted eventually that her eggs are not fertile and there are no baby birds coming out from the shells. It's a sign for Honey's mom that she could remove the eggs without stressing her pet.
Some Tiktok commenters wanted Honey to experience the real joy of having a partner and a family, so they suggested to her human mom to get her a mate.

Beautiful words from darknessdivine: "Aww Lil baby, hers would be cute."
The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Angell Animal Medical Center (MSPCA–Angell) highly recommends it, too. Many people are fond of lovebirds, since they are such intelligent and affectionate creatures. But for these birds' well-being and happiness, it's best for them to be kept in pairs since lovebirds are social animals who need a lot of attention and love.
For more than 20 years now, I’ve been devoting my heart, energy, and time to fulfilling my dream, which – many people may agree – is not among the easiest aspirations in life. Part of my happiness is having been able to lend a hand to many individuals, companies, and even governments as an investigative journalist, creative writer, TV director, and radio broadcaster.
At home, I spend my free time learning how to cook various cuisines. Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and banoffee pie are my favorite desserts. Playing with our dogs, Mushu and Jerusalem, is also a special part of my day. And, of course, I read a lot – almost anything under the sun. But what really makes me feel alive is meeting people from various walks of life and writing about their stories, which echo with the tears and triumph of an unyielding spirit, humanity, and wisdom.
