This Bookish Parody Of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" Is Stuck In My Head...

Libraries are about more than simply checking out books. And believe it or not, librarians are also about more than cardigans and glasses on chains (whaaaaat?). Oh yeah, you heard us right. There's so much more to it than that!

The staff at the Shoalhaven Library in Nowra, Australia, want to change people's minds about what libraries are all about, and they are not being subtle about it. They have created an amazing tribute to libraries and the people who run them. And we think it's absolutely spectacular.

In this music video, they point out proper care for books, the fact that many libraries are run by volunteers, and the special events they throw for the community (among other things).

But the best part is that they do so by rewriting the lyrics to Queen’s rock anthem, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” It is sooooooo creative! Rock on, librarians of the world. And keep on rocking on, Shoalhaven!

Be sure to check out this other musical parody by some librarians in the States...

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
