Trail Camera Catches Chilling Sound Of A Lynx Screaming

A trail camera captured the incredible moment a Canada lynx let out a series of chilling screams.

Colin Chase placed the camera and uploaded the footage to the Facebook group, Trail Camera Photos and Videos.

In the video, not only can you hear the Canada lynx scream but you can also see it approach the camera and give it a lick!

He captured the post: "Canada Lynx, Maine. Volume up for this one! I was surprised that the lynx 'licked' my camera, I've never had that happen with a cat. There was no scent, or food on the trail camera. Browning Recon Force Advantage."

According to the Canadian Geographic, Canada lynx live in forested areas throughout Canada, Alaska and parts of the contiguous United States. They may look cute and cuddly, "but make no mistake, these boreal predators are ferocious!"

National Geographic reports that Canada lynx scream for a variety of reasons, from attracting mates to claiming territory and locating offspring. Their screams are a complex form of communication, with different lengths and volumes being used for different things.

Regardless of what the scream means, I think it's safe to say that it's chilling.
