Cat Abandoned In Basement For 20 Years Just Wants To Be Loved
Can you imagine living 20 years without seeing the light of day? That's the reality a senior cat in New York City faced.
According to The Dodo, the cat's owners abandoned her there when she was just a kitten.
The building's superintendent took on the responsibility of feeding her and keeping her alive, but no one ever stopped to offer her a home.
Months turned to years and eventually, nearly two decades passed. Thankfully, someone finally stepped up to offer the cat a proper home before she passed away.
The rescuer, a woman named Anita, told The Dodo that the cat didn't want food like most strays and rescues, instead, she just wanted to be pet and loved!
Anita was able to place the senior kitty into a loving forever home where she could live out her golden years in peace. It took a bit of time for the cat to adjust after being neglected for so long, but now, she's loving life!
The veterinarian discovered she had a tumor, along with some other health issues.
Thankfully, her new mama is committed to getting her taken care of.
She may not have a very long time to live, but she's living the last of her life in comfort and that's a beautiful thing.
