Country Trio Wins Golden Buzzer After Performing Original Song From Dolly Parton's "Jolene"

Everyone knows Dolly Parton's famous song, "Jolene." It's a country classic.

Over the years it has been performed as a cover by many aspiring artists, each one giving it its own unique take.

But there is one country trio known as Chapel Hart who's really put their own spin on Dolly Parton's song. In fact, they've written their own original song in response to the country classic.

The country trio sang their original song as part of their audition for America's Got Talent. The trio is made up of sisters, Danica and Devynn Hart, along with their cousin, Trea Swindle. Needless to say, they knocked it out of the park. All the judges were impressed.

The song was so well received, that it earned this budding country trip a "Golden Buzzer" following their performance.

In the video, the three are on stage, where Danica said to the judges, "So, we're going to sing an original song, it's called 'You Can Have Him Jolene.' We've always been country music fans and Dolly by far is our favorite."

She then added, "We were so inspired by the song 'Jolene' and we just love the storyline and we figured from 1973 to 2022 we can not still be fighting over the same man. So, we decided to tell her you can just have him Jolene."

That is definitely female empowerment right there. Everyone loved the song, including Dolly herself! After Chapel Hart performed the song, Dolly Parton took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the original song.

She tweeted, "What a fun new take on my song, @ChapelHartBand! Carl's birthday is today so I think I'll hang on to him, and I'm not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday (winking face emoji)."
