Couple Wanted To Euthanize Their 10-Year-Old Dog To Make Room For A New Puppy
Munchkin, a 10-year-old Corgi, was almost euthanized because his owners wanted a new puppy. The local vet office asked owners to surrender the dog rather than put him down. Unfortunately, stories like this happen all the time around the country.
"He's perfectly healthy he has a wonderful disposition. It just seems crazy to me,” said Michele Padilla, who adopted Munchkin.
Munchkin surrendered to the local rescue A Home 4 Spot, where his story quickly spread.
"He wants all the love all the time,” she said. "He's just a fun-loving amazing dude. Never without a smile."
Padilla is already the mom to another senior dog and hopes others will step up to make sure all dogs (no matter their age) finds loving homes.
"I'd love for as many people as possible to get out there and adopt those senior dogs. And really give a chance to a senior dog that needs it and could use it and will love you for the rest of their lives."
She has created an Instagram account for people to be able to follow Munchkin on social media.
We want to make an important note not to euthanize your dog if it is not suffering. Any and all local shelters will take your dog and help find him/her a new home. Euthanization should never be the answer in cases like this. Also, if you can't afford or take care of a dog...Don't get one!
