Rescue Cow and Goat Become BFFs at the Sanctuary That Saved Them
We sometimes hear about birds of a feather flocking together. In other words, when you are similar to someone else, you tend to hang out with them.
There is also another saying about strange bedfellows. This one is more along the lines of opposites attract, which means that you don't always have to be alike to get along really well.
This was seen in a fantastic way at Mockingbird Farm Sanctuary in Byron, New York. Both an elder goat and a steer were rescued at the same time and even though they are in a better place, they still depend upon each other.
According to GeoBeats Animals, Sid the goat and Rem the steer would rely on each other to stay safe during difficult times. This included during the cold weather when they were stuck outside without adequate protection.
Because of the winters that they spent together, they had to find a way to survive. Rem became like a heating pad for his goat friend, and whenever Sid needed to get warm, he would just lean in for a cuddle.
They still continue to display this type of behavior, even though they are in a much better place. When it gets chilly, that's exactly what they do.
The sanctuary also wanted to build a special room because the two of them couldn't sleep without each other. Although they tried to separate them, they have become such close friends that they must be together all the time.
