Diver Befriends A Sea Turtle And Shares A Jellyfish Meal

When most of us swim in the ocean, we do our best to avoid jellyfish. However, that isn't the case with turtles, who sometimes dine on a jellyfish for their meals.

One person who knows this very well is Roei Kashi. He is a free diver in Thailand and has loved turtles since he was a young boy.

On one particular outing, he found a sea turtle on his own enjoying a meal of jellyfish. The turtle wasn't comfortable with the humans nearby, and every time they got close, the turtle would run away.

According to The Dodo, Kashi wanted to find a way to get close to the turtle, and then he remembered something he had seen in a video. It was a man who pretended to drink from a pond and was accepted into a lion pride.

That is when Kashi decided to pretend to eat the jellyfish. As soon as he did, the turtle lost its uncomfortableness and began getting closer to the humans.

At one point, he took the jellyfish to the surface and was very close to Kashi and the rest of those who were diving. He felt as if the turtle was almost trying to share the meal with him.

The turtle continued to stick around and, at one point, even tried to invite another turtle to join them. That turtle got spooked because of the humans, but their turtle friend continued to stick around until the jellyfish was gone.

After eating the jellyfish with Kashi, they made their way toward the boat. The turtle made the same moves that he made, following him until they had to say goodbye.

It isn't very often that we get to experience this type of interaction with wild animals. As far as Kashi is concerned, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that he will never forget.
