Students Design Giant Dog Beds But For Humans

Have you ever looked at a giant dog bed and thought, "I would sleep in that"? When my sister's dogs were gifted massive dog beds, the thought definitely crossed my mind! I even tried to lay in one, but the round shape made it hard to get comfortable.

It seems others have experienced the same struggle because two college students from Vancouver, Canada designed an entire dog bed just for humans!

With the design locked in, Noah Silverman and Yuki Kinoshita co-founded Plufl, a new company that sells giant dog beds for people.

The duo has raised nearly $300,000 on Kickstarter, with each bed costing $399 for the original supporters.

According to the Plufl website, the 20-pound beds are made of 4-inch-thick orthopedic memory foam and they're covered with faux fur. They're a little over 5.5 feet long and 3-feet wide, so they're a comfortable fit for many people.

"Inspired by the classic dog bed, the Plufl is designed to alleviate stress and anxiety by providing a space where you can rest, recharge, and rejuvenate," the creators wrote on the website.

The design has been well-received, with one of their advertisements bringing in over 9.5 million views on TikTok!

Thousands of people in the comments were thrilled about the idea and couldn't wait to get one.

According to the New York Post, Kinoshita and Silverman credit the idea for the beds to their friend, Lady, a Great Dane who served as inspiration.

Lady frequents their favorite coffee shop and got them thinking about large dog beds, like for a Great Dane, and how that might be able to translate to a bed for humans.
