Clever Dog Fakes Peeing Like a Hollywood Actor So He Can Go Back Inside
Shih Tzus are among the most lovable dog breeds in the world.
Did you know that their name was derived from the Chinese word Shizigou, which means "Lion Sun Dog?" According to the Times of India, it's due to the facial hair that grows out of this dog's nose.
But, surely, these small dogs are more adorable and cuddly than wild lions. In fact, the American Kennel Club gives this breed 5 stars for being 'affectionate with family, good with children, and good with other dogs.'
Here are more fascinating facts about Shih Tzus that you most probably don't know:
- These Lion Sun Dogs are direct descendants of prehistoric wolves, with whom they share the closest genetic ties.
- They are among the oldest extant dog breeds, whose history goes back almost 2000 years. In Tibet, Shih Tzus were assigned as watchdogs in Buddhist temples and would alert Tibetan Mastiffs, who served as guard dogs in case of threats.
- Shih Tzus went extinct in their native land after Empress Tzu Hsi died in 1908. She was a devoted owner of a Shih Tzu and had supported its major breeding program. But the dog breed almost vanished by the 20th century.
- Seven pairs of male and female Shih Tzus saved the breed from extinction. The 14 dogs were bred by the latter half of the 20th century, and they are now the ancestors of all Shih Tzus around the world.
Now, here's another fascinating thing you'll learn about Shih Tzus. They have the potential to be great actors!
Just watch this viral video of Branston, whose mom wouldn't let him come inside the house until he was done peeing. And so, like a great actor, he smoothly turned around and pretended to do his business and came back with an innocent look on his face.
His mom couldn't help but laugh. But his sister Pickle was giving Branston a reprimanding look, knowing how he loves to fool around.
How could you not fall in love with Shih Tzus?

For more than 20 years now, I’ve been devoting my heart, energy, and time to fulfilling my dream, which – many people may agree – is not among the easiest aspirations in life. Part of my happiness is having been able to lend a hand to many individuals, companies, and even governments as an investigative journalist, creative writer, TV director, and radio broadcaster.
At home, I spend my free time learning how to cook various cuisines. Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and banoffee pie are my favorite desserts. Playing with our dogs, Mushu and Jerusalem, is also a special part of my day. And, of course, I read a lot – almost anything under the sun. But what really makes me feel alive is meeting people from various walks of life and writing about their stories, which echo with the tears and triumph of an unyielding spirit, humanity, and wisdom.
