Dog Owner Shares Why A Stroller Is A Must-Have For Her Furbaby

When we think of a baby stroller, we imagine pushing around actual babies, but some people use them for dogs as well!

Every time I take my dog for a walk, I'm doing it to give him exercise. But some dog breeds can't handle that much exercise due to health issues or weak lungs. Some people want to go for walks for themselves and take their pups along, even if their dogs can't keep up. And that's where a stroller can come in.

In fact, one dog owner shared a list of reasons why a stroller is a "must-have" for her furbaby, a French bulldog named Oatie.

"Here's why you need a stroller for your dog. And no, it is not just to spoil them," Oatie's owner shared on TikTok. She went on to list several reasons why strollers are great for dogs.

Doesn't push your dog's limits.

"There are so many benefits of dog strollers, starting with the fact that your dog may not be able to handle as much exercise as you," she said.

"I let my dog out to walk for as long as he wants, which could be five minutes...but a dog stroller allows me to walk for over an hour without pushing his limits, so this works best for both of us," she added.

Holds the essentials.

She said, "It's also useful for carrying all the essentials, like poop bags, pepper spray, treats, water, pet wipes, and a cooling vest."

Protects paws and provides shade.

"When the pavement is too hot for paws in the summer, a stroller is a great way to get your dog out of the house while providing shade," she pointed out.

It's important to safely exercise your dog in summer and not overdo it. Dogs can suffer from heatstroke and other heat-related ailments just like people can!

Discreet.

"I also feel safer knowing that people behind me can't tell that I have a Frenchie with me," Oatie's owner said. French Bulldogs are stolen at an alarming rate, so it makes sense why she'd want to be discreet about it. It's a sad reality, but Frenchie thefts regularly make the news.

Store in the car

"Our stroller has a clip to attach a harness for extra safety, and it collapses down easily for storing in the back of my car on the go," she said.
