You Can Watch Ducks Participate In An Annual Fashion Show In Australia
Growing up, my sister had ducks as pets. They followed her around like she was their mama and it was so adorable!
The way they waddle, splash, and cuddle is cute, but there's one festival in Australia that takes things to the next level with a duck fashion show!
As part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, farmer Brian Harrington organizes an annual duck fashion show where the birds take a brief break from the pond to strut their adorable little outfits down a runway.
According to Reuters, the duck fashion show ha been part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show for decades. In fact, 60-year-old Harrington has run the show for some 40 years!
Each year, he dresses several ducks according to the latest fashion trends for each event. The outfits are custom-made to fit their bodies and might include capes, hats, accessories, and more.
According to Reuters, Harrington said, "I love that little duck. If she was a human, she’d be on top money," said Harrington."
While the show has been around for decades, a lot of people are surprised to learn about it, including one social media influencer named Rachel Lord.
She took to Twitter to draw attention to the unique fashion show. She tweeted photos of the ducks and said, "I have just found out about the Sydney Annual Duck Fashion Show."
