In the middle of the Ukraine war are countless homeless dogs struggling to survive. They fight for what little food and shelter they can find - hoping and waiting for someone to rescue them.

A local in the Donbas region spotted an injured dog on the street and contacted Animal Rescue Kharkiv for help. Arti was covered in untreated wounds and bite marks.

She was rescued just in time as her untreated wounds were infected and causing her immense pain. She was immediately started on pain medication and antibiotics.

A closer look revealed that the tissue was severely damaged and large areas were necrotic from delayed care.

She underwent emergency surgery to remove damaged tissue and clean the wounds to give her a fighting chance.

Arti still has a long road to recovery that will involve daily bandage changes, ongoing medication, and possible skin graft in the future. Help her heal and get a second chance to find a peaceful and loving home.

Click to Help James

James and his blind brother, William, were found abandoned on the street when they were just four weeks old. James was born with one blind eye that started to cause him discomfort. Over time, that eye became increasingly painful and irritated. James is the seeing-eye cat for his brother, making his condition even more urgent to treat.
