Injured and Emaciated Dog Barely Able to Stand Still Wags Tail for Rescuers
Andrea Powell
Hardy, a two-year-old Great Pyrenees, was found collapsed on the ground in a rural area severely malnourished with an injured eye. He was surrendered to Alberta SPCA officers who brought him back to a local veterinarian.
They told us, "Despite his emaciated condition and injuries when he came into the care of the Alberta SPCA, he was still a gentle giant who wanted to be comforted and to receive pets from the officers."

He arrived with a body score of 1 out of 5, meaning that he needs to regain his strength before he can undergo surgery to remove his damaged eye. He is currently on a veterinarian supervised feeding schedule to help him return to a healthy weight.

Hardy was neglected for a long time, but he is leaving his painful past behind him. He has a long road to recovery ahead and needs your help.
Animal shelters and rescues are already stretched thin trying to feed all the animals in their care and are unable to afford medical care. That is where you can help. Sadly, sick and injured animals continue to arrive at shelters in need of emergency care.

Your donations will help Hardy get the medical care he needs to heal and a second chance. Donate now. Every dollar helps.
