Neglected and Injured Dogs Chained Their Entire Lives Outside Finally Freed
Andrea Powell
Dozens of dogs kept on chains without proper food, care, or shelter are finally free.

The dogs were rescued from a wooded property in Alabama where they were suffering from malnutrition, untreated wounds and injuries, parasites, and other life-threatening diseases.

Troy Animal Rescue Project recalled, "We were met by 26 pit bulls on chains in the middle of a wooded area only accessible by UTV. Each of the dogs was severely emaciated and in need of medical attention."

The cruel owner was hospitalized and admitted to the sheriff that he had been breeding dogs for dog fighting for over 20 years.

Even though the dogs have been mistreated by humans, many wagged their tails and leaped into rescuers’ arms. They knew they were finally safe.

Pit bulls like Fancy. This sweet girl has been suffering for a long time but managed to survive. Her rescuers said, "Fancy is one of the oldest dogs we took off the property. At 5 years old, she would have been on her way out. At this age, genetic issues usually cause health issues and decrease breeding yields. Thankfully, although emaciated and fighting health problems, Fancy survived where many did not.

Luna is said to be shy after years of mistreatment, but is slowly learning that not all humans are bad.

It will be a long road with endless medical bills to restore their health. All are emaciated and need nutritious food, parasite treatment, dental work, and several of the dogs need surgery for untreated injuries. Your donations will help change their lives.

They just want to be loved and cared for. With your support, they will finally get the care they need to heal and get a second chance to find a loving home.
