Elephant Uses "Elephant Crossing" to Steal a Snack from a Passing Truck

Animals are smarter than we give them credit for. Just take the elephant in the video below, for example.

Not only did the clever elephant know where to cross the road via the "Elephant Crossing" sign, but she managed to get a tasty snack at the same time!

According to NDTV, elephants are known to sugarcane so it shouldn't be too surprising to see what truck the elephant stops during her crossing.

The Thai Elephant Documentary Channel shared a video of the elephant and you can see her walking out of the bushes right where the "Elephant Crossing" sign hands above a busy road.

She doesn't get far into the road when she spots an open-top sugarcane truck hauling a huge load of delicious sugarcane - all within reach of her trunk.

A video managed to capture the moment as the elephant pulled some of the branches from the truck and began munching and it's really something special to see.

The video was filmed in Thailand on a road that appears to have elephant visitors regularly.

You can watch the hilarious and sweet moment for yourself below:

As it turns out, this wasn't a one-off situation. The Thai Elephant Documentary Channel shared more videos showing elephants walking into the road and halting traffic to grab a sugar cane snack off a passing truck.

They're quite clever to realize roads are where the sugar cane goes! Check out the videos below:
