Woman Wakes Up Every Morning to Feed Wild Foxes

When company shows up at your house in the morning, it is the polite thing to do would be to offer them some breakfast. Many people say that breakfast is the best meal of the day, and Sharon Hughes knows this very well.

56-year-old Hughes has been feeding a family that stops by her home every morning in South Lancashire. It isn't human friends that are coming by, however; it is a family of foxes.

These foxes have been showing up at her home for more than 25 years. She even says that she remembers feeding their great-grandparents, and she is now on the fourth generation.

In speaking with the Sunday Mail, she said the breakfast menu typically includes sausages and sausage rolls. Leftovers may also be on the menu, including Chinese takeout, chicken legs, and pizza.

Naming the Visitors

Since the foxes show up so often, they are given names. Some of the foxes' names include Charles, Dyson, Twisted, and Little Ted.

Charles got his name because he showed up on the first day of the coronation. Twisty always has his head tilted to one side, and Dyson sucks everything up like a vacuum.

In many cases, the foxes don't come empty-handed. They bring gifts, like mice, which they leave on the doorstep.

Hopefully, this is a tradition that will last for many more years.

I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
