New Cat Mom Discovers the Unexpected Beauty of Life with a Feline

There are two types of people in this world: those who have a cat and those who don't. Occasionally, there's even a crossover, and that is where Michelle's story comes in.

Michelle openly admits that she never thought much about having a cat. Now she knows that, as a cat mom, she's not really a mother, she's more like a cool aunt.

Rosie came into the family after being rescued from a park in Houston. The rescue told Michelle they found her and her three boy siblings in a box after they were abandoned.

A Cat Mom Is Born

It only took a picture of Rosie's face and a description to let Michelle know that she was her cat. Before long, Rosie was home and loving it.

Michelle adopted Rosie in March 2020, right as the world was shutting down for the pandemic. She decided to hunker down with her parents and work from home, so Rosie got all of their attention.

Rosie even enjoyed the attention of the family dog and would spend her nights snuggling in bed. She even learned how to act like a dog, and you get to see her fetching something in the video below.

When Michelle thought about cats, she said that she didn't have any mental capacity for having an outdoor cat. Rosie had other plans, as she loved being outside.

Preparing Rosie To Be Safe Outside

Rather than fighting against it, Michelle decided to help Rosie adapt to life in the great outdoors. She leash-trained her and made sure she knew how to swim, just in case she fell into a swimming pool.

Michelle is learning that life with a cat is a constant adventure. Rosie explores every nook and cranny of the house, even trying to open cabinets and occasionally investigating the 'no-go zone,' the dining room table.

Ask any cat owner, and they will let you know, there is nothing quite like the experience of having a feline in your life. Michelle learned this, and now she wouldn't have it any other way.

I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
