Wild Fish Befriends Diver And Visits Him Anytime He's Underwater

We often don't give animals like fish enough credit for how intelligent and sentient they really are.

One diver realized how much fish understand when a wild fish nicknamed Elvis befriended him.

According to The Dodo, Rex was diving one day when he noticed a fish that refused to leave him alone. The little fish followed him all over as he swam around.

Eventually, it was time to get out of the water and the fish followed Rex all the way back to shore!

Amazingly, when Rex returned to that same dive spot, he was once again greeted by Elvis. The friendly fish seemed drawn to him and would even chase other fish away!

The relationship they developed was really something special.

Rex was easily able to identify Elvis among the fish due to a scar he had from a fish hook. It was apparent that Elvis had been caught by a fisherman in the past due an old wound on his lip.

Speaking with The Dodo, Rex said: "I was a fisherman for most of my life, until I started diving. It changed everything. You don't realize how beautiful and magical this world is until you start seeing it from different perspectives."
