Fishermen Save Two Baby Moose Trapped In The Water
There are times when you have an opportunity to become a hero and you need to step up to the plate and do what is right. This sometimes may even mean that you risk your own neck in some way or another, but in the end, you feel good about what you've done.
That was what happened to some fishermen who saw two baby moose struggling in the water. The mother was nearby, but she wouldn't get too close because she didn't know how to save them.
You can see the young calf in the video unable to get up the steep bank that has become overgrown. There is no way for the mother to get down to the calf, so it was a standoff.
Some fishermen were nearby and saw the situation. They recognized that the calf was in a precarious position and the mother moose was starting to panic.
According to Newsflare, the fishermen said: "We spotted a baby moose struggling to get on the land, so we decided it was best to let nature take its course by letting the momma help its young."
When they returned an hour later, they discovered that the mother was gone, and the baby moose was still struggling. They also noticed how exhausted the calf was and knew it wouldn't survive very long.
That is when they made the decision to point their boat at the baby moose. As you can imagine, it was panicked because it wasn't sure what they were going to do.
When they got to the young calf, they found out it was shivering and had been in the water for an extended amount of time. They were able to lift her onto the boat and then carry the calf to a dry area.
As you can see in a video shared by The Dodo, the calf seemed disoriented at first and was struggling to get on its feet. It looked at the fishermen almost as if to get some help, so they provided it.
That was when they saw another calf that was stuck in the water on the rocks. The mother was able to swim to safety, but the baby couldn't get through the water.
Fortunately, they were able to help this young calf as well. They lifted her from the water onto the rocks, and after a little guidance, they were able to direct the moose to safety.
