Florida's west coast is still recovering from Hurricane Helene as another devastating hurricane approaches.

Hurricane Milton is projected to hit Tampa Bay late Wednesday evening as a major hurricane with "unsurvivable" storm surge. Locals are tuning in to their local news for more information and many in the direct path are evacuating.

Milton was being closely watched as it quickly gained intensity over the Gulf of Mexico. It is a Category 4 as it makes its way towards Florida, which will be the worst storm to hit Tampa in over 100 years.

For those who are still wondering if they should leave the area, check out the viral post on X by Central Florida Meteorologist Noah Bergren.

He wrote, "This is nothing short of astronomical. I am at a loss for words to meteorologically describe you the storms small eye and intensity. 897mb pressure with 180 MPH max sustained winds and gusts 200+ MPH. This is now the 4th (edited to 5th) strongest hurricane ever recorded by pressure on this side of the world. The eye is TINY at nearly 3.8 miles wide. This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth's atmosphere over this ocean water can produce."

Life-threatening storm surge is also forecasted. NWS Tampa Bay posted an illustration of just how high water could rise and urged followers to, "Heed evacuations orders".
