A foal who had not even reached his first birthday was headed towards a terrible fate. He was loaded on a truck headed to the slaughterhouse.

He had barely lived and his life was going to come to a tragic and brutal end. Thankfully, he was rescued just in time by our hero, Krystina.

She stopped what she was doing when she heard about the poor foal and immediately went to the owner to try and save him. The owner said it cost too much to care and feed for a horse.

Krystina who is already caring for hundreds of dogs, cats, and another rescue horse couldn't walk away. She said, "Don’t take him. We’ll buy him.”

That is exactly what she did. She paid for him and them brought him back to the stables for a second chance.

Krystina shared that she went out that day to help sterilize dogs and cats and ended up coming home with a little horse. Not the plan, but she tries to save as many lives as possible no matter the species.

The foal is getting the care he needs and then she will begin looking for a loving home where he can grow big and strong.

Your donations make rescues like this possible. Krystina and her staff at Under the Sun are feeding and caring for over 250 dogs at the shelter and have cats and puppies with fosters in the area. All need food and medical care, which your support helps provide. Thank you for helping homeless animals in Ukraine get what they need to survive and thrive.

Donate today to help save more lives.
