Video Shows "Freaky" Timelapses Of Cactus Flowers Blooming
A photographer and self-proclaimed "Echinopsis enthusiast" named Greg runs the EchinopsisFreak and regularly shares photos, videos, and time-lapses of the unusual and captivating "Echinopsis cactus flowers blooming, wilting, and just generally strutting their amazing stuff."
Greg shared on his website that he lives in Florida where its hard to grow and enjoy cacti but the Echinopsis proved to be different. It can withstand the humid, soggy climate and produces stunning flowers!
"I think I now have almost 100 Echinopsis species and hybrids," Greg shared.
Lucky for us, with so many plants on hand, he has quite an assortment to choose from to film and photograph and he shares that content with the world.
In one incredible video from 2015, you can see a "compilation of what I feel are my best timelapses of Echinopsis cactus flowers blooming from the...blooming season."
In the video, you can watch large and vibrant flowers bloom and change in a matter of seconds. It's really something special to watch. If you were to sit and witness the changes in real-time, it'd be hard fully grasp the scope of what was happening.
With the time-lapse feature, however, you can see and appreciate the movement and changes to their full extent.
