Love You, Sis! Golden Retriever Welcomes a New Puppy into Their Family with the Sweetest Affection
"Golden retrievers are special because they are the perfect family dog," said Ryan Steen, DVM, medical director at Frey Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "From a personality perspective, you'll be hard pressed to find a more loving, outgoing, eager-to-please companion."
Indeed, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds. It's a magnificent Scottish gundog who's great in hunting and field work, search-and-rescue missions, and as guides for blind people.
This dog breed is also known for its exuberance, easy-to-train quality, trustworthiness, and pure love for its human family, especially young children.
Daily Paws further shared that Golden Retrievers grow into adulthood with their signature smile and fun-loving puppy behaviors. Couple these with their fondness for agility and obedience events, life with these dogs is simply full of joy.
You'll also be delighted to learn the history of this dog breed. The first Golden Retrievers came from the small conservation village of Tomich in the Scottish Highland. In 1868, Lord Tweedmouth encouraged the mating of a yellow Wavy-Coated retriever named “Nous” with a Tweed Water spaniel named “Belle.” Four yellow puppies were born and named Crocus, Cowslip, Ada, and Primrose.
Every year, in July, people come to Tomich from all over the world with their dogs, mostly golden retrievers, to pay tribute to Lord Tweedmouth. The celebration is held in front of the ruins of the Guisachan House, where the first golden retrievers were bred. With the presence of hundreds of dogs and their owners, you can feel just how deep and strong the bond between humans and golden retrievers has become.
But hey, it's also great to know that a Golden Retriever's affection for other dogs has been likewise ranked by AKC with 5 stars!

For more than 20 years now, I’ve been devoting my heart, energy, and time to fulfilling my dream, which – many people may agree – is not among the easiest aspirations in life. Part of my happiness is having been able to lend a hand to many individuals, companies, and even governments as an investigative journalist, creative writer, TV director, and radio broadcaster.
At home, I spend my free time learning how to cook various cuisines. Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and banoffee pie are my favorite desserts. Playing with our dogs, Mushu and Jerusalem, is also a special part of my day. And, of course, I read a lot – almost anything under the sun. But what really makes me feel alive is meeting people from various walks of life and writing about their stories, which echo with the tears and triumph of an unyielding spirit, humanity, and wisdom.
