Fearful Shelter Dog Comes Out of Shell Thanks to Love and Delicious Food

Your donations are enhancing the lives of shelter animals across the country, like Banks.
The five-year-old dog was found completely shut down in an overcrowded shelter when A Lab For Life came to his rescue. They were unsure of his history, but it was clear that he was let down by humans which resulted in him not trusting anyone.
Slowly, with the help of a patient and loving foster, Banks started to realize that not all humans are bad. The delicious pet food (which your donations helped provide) helped nourish Banks' body and soul as he regained his strength and trust in humans.

He was suffering from an old injury and tested positive for heartworm disease when he arrived at his foster home. The rescue made sure he received the care he needed to walk again without pain and treatment for heartworms.

Banks realizes he is finally safe and has transformed into a loving dog. The sparkle has returned to his eyes and he has a pep in his step. The rescue shared, "He’s discovering joy in belly rubs, naps in soft memory foam beds, and the thrill of squeaky toys (he now proudly hoards a growing collection). The once-fearful pup is now a goofy, loyal companion who greets each day with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes."

Animal rescues and shelters are overcrowded and overwhelmed trying to feed and care for all the homeless animals. The donated pet food allows the shelters to feed the hungry animals and used the saved money on medical care.
Banks and his devoted caretakers are so grateful for the donated pet food. It has given this sweet dog a second chance and will help the rescue save many more animals in need.

They told us, "From forgotten to found, from fear to freedom, Banks is the heart of why we rescue."
