Dogs Rescued From Overwhelmed Breeder Are Safe and Fed, Thanks to You

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

A long-time breeder was struggling to care for the increasing number of dogs she had, and, with your help, a pair of her pups found their way out of the situation.

Furry Friends Animal Rescue in Oklahoma tells us they’d been contacted by a Boston terrier breeder whose health had taken a turn for the worse. She couldn’t manage to get her latest litter to the vet for needed care because driving was too difficult. The rescue offered to provide transportation for them, but that unfortunately wasn’t the end of it.

Furry Friends says, “Months went by, and she reached out to us again. This time, she admitted she could no longer care for the dogs at all and wanted help to find loving homes for them. We agreed and went to pick up these two cuties. Jane and Junior.”

HELP FEED SHELTER PETS

Jane and Junior, like all other shelter animals, needed nutritious meals to keep them healthy and full. Your clicks, trivia participation, shopping for a cause, and direct donations helped, as Furry Friends recently received a shipment of Ziwi dog food through our partner Greater Good Charities’ GOODS program.

GOODS provides a variety of supplies to shelters, and one of the ways it does so is by connecting pet food suppliers with products they can’t sell to shelters that need the extra food, as it is among their biggest expenses.

The food, which is unopened and perfectly safe, could have been overproduced or just put in the wrong packaging. Instead of being wasted, it’s donated to shelters.

Furry Friends says, “Jane, Junior and Furry Friends Animal Rescue give the biggest Thank You to Greater Good Charities and Ziwi for this wonderful food! Rescuing pets like Jane and Junior would not be possible without all of your help and support.”

Jane and Junior have full bellies thanks to you! If you’d like to provide food for other shelters in need, click below.
