Two Kind-Eyed Abandoned Dogs Have Happily Ever Afters, Thanks to You

Preventive medical care is essential for dogs’ health and happiness, but providing it can be a tall task for crowded shelters that already have other basics, like food, to provide. Thanks to you, though, two abandoned pups had their care covered, opening them up to the happily ever afters they deserved!
Lemon Haze is a certifiably gorgeous 2-year-old red and white husky with two different colored eyes, as is quite common for her breed. One of this sweet girl’s eyes is an icy blue and the other is a warm yellow. Those eyes had seen a lot by the time she came into Greenhill Humane Society, as she was brought in by animal control after being abandoned by her owner and left to wander the streets.

Greenhill says, “Despite her uncertain past, Lemon Haze remained incredibly friendly and eager to connect with everyone she met… Her bright personality, stunning appearance, and affectionate nature quickly won the hearts of staff and visitors.”
During her stay, Lemon Haze received flea and tick protection and vaccination against canine diseases like parvo, adenovirus, and distemper. These were provided through our partner Greater Good Charities’ GOODS program, thanks to your clicks, trivia participation, shopping for a cause, and direct donations.
The medical care helped this friendly pup remain healthy and comfortable while she was at the shelter, which wasn’t all that long. Just one week after she arrived, she found her forever home, getting the second chance she deserved!
Another dog at Greenhill who benefitted from these donated flea and tick meds and vaccinations was Milkbun, a one-and-a-half-year-old pit bull with what the shelter describes as gentle eyes. Like Lemon Haze, she was wandering the streets when she was brought in. Efforts to find her owner were unsuccessful, but the shelter was glad to have her.

Greenhill writes, “She enjoyed long walks with our volunteers, playtime in the yard, and, most importantly, the love and attention of our dedicated staff. As the days passed, she began to relax and show her sweet, playful personality. She quickly became a favorite among staff and visitors alike.”
While bringing smiles to those around her, she was getting necessary medical care to open up her adoption options. That, of course, included flea and tick preventive meds and vaccination against serious canine viruses. Greenhill says this gave her a strong foundation for a healthy future.
Her future was just around the corner, too. After about a month at the shelter, Milkbun found her forever home!
