Dog Convinces His Owner To Keep His Beloved Stuffed Rabbit In Adorable TV Commercial

2012 occasionally feels like a lifetime ago, but more often than not, it feels like it was just yesterday. It was a significant year for many reasons, including the many predictions that the world would end that year.

Among the many things that people might remember from 2012 is the Thinkbox commercial featuring Havery the pup and his favorite stuffed rabbit.

The commercial was a big hit and Havey quickly rose to stardom for his class act performance.

In 2015, Thinkbox TV wrote about the 2012 advertisement, saying:

"In this Thinkbox TV ad the stakes couldn't be higher as Harvey the dog's best friend Rabbit dangles perilously over the waste bin. Will the power of TV advertising be able to save the day?"

The blog went on to say that it was Thinkbox's third TV advertising campaign and it proved it be a big hit.

The commercial "sees Harvey...use emotional story-telling to change his owner's behaviour dramatically and persuade him not to throw away his best friend and constant companion, a stuffed toy called Rabbit. It opens at the moment that Harvey's owner is about to put the well-worn, slobber-covered Rabbit in the bin while Harvey is apparently not around. Harvey suddenly appears and plays a TV ad telling the story of how he and Rabbit became friends and the scrapes they've got into together over the years. Harvey's ad persuades his owner to let him keep Rabbit."

You can see it for yourself below:

As it turns out, the commercial wasn't Harvey and Rabbit's last run together.

In 2014, ThinkboxTV shared a video of the iconic duo posing in a photo booth.

It seems their friendship remained strong throughout the years, all thanks to Harvey's ability to prevent his owner from tossing the stuffed bunny.

Check out the video below:

If you're curious about the dog behind Harvey's iconic character, he was a terrier named Sykes that worked under Gill Raddings Stunt Dogs & Animals.

Sadly, Raddings shared on Facebook that Sykes passed away back in 2019, but not before making a lasting impact on the world.

"Our ThinkBox clients thought the world of him and were so impressed by his work that they often told us how much," they wrote.

Rest in peace, Skyes.
