Man Sets New High Dive Record After Jumping 193 Feet
There are plenty of phobias to choose from. More than likely, you've heard of the fear of spiders, the fear of heights, the fear of water, or the fear of enclosed spaces.
There are those who like to conquer their fears and even some that don't have fear as most of us do. That is where this video comes in, and it is sure to trigger some people who watch it.
The video features of a daredevil, Laso Schaller, and he wanted to attempt to set the world record for the highest dive. In order to do so, he traveled to Maggia, Ticino, Switzerland, where he would attempt to dive off a cliff into the water below.
The dive would be 193 feet from where he left the platform until his feet touched the water. Not only did this set the Guinness World Record for the highest cliff jump, it would also set the record for the highest dive from a high diving board.
As he left the platform, he had a group watching him dive from below as well as those who were watching him from above. Everything was filmed, and he was tracked at 76.4 mph just as he hit the water below.
All in all, it took almost 4 seconds for him to land in the water. To put it in perspective, the height he traveled on his way down was higher than if he jumped off the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Soon after he landed, rescuers were in the water to ensure that he was safe. They helped him to the edge and after he got his bearings, he stood up with his arms triumphantly in the air.
You can watch it happening for yourself in this video:
I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
