Hospital Staff Helps Rescue 6-Week-Old Kitten Abandoned In A Dumpster
Staff at a hospital in Virginia are being hailed as heroes after helping to rescue a 6-week-old kitten from a dumpster.
The Virginia-based animal rescue Angels of Assisi shared about the tiny kitten on Facebook, explaining that the kitten was found in a paper bag inside the dumpster - discarded like trash.
It's hard to think that anyone could intentionally hurt a helpless kitten. Sadly, this little kitten was off to a rough start in life though. It's unlikely the cat would've survived long at all if a worker at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital hadn't stepped up to help.
Angels of Assisi wrote in their post, "A Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital worker heard a concerning sound coming from the dumpster and called the Carilion Police to investigate. When the officer checked the dumpster, he discovered a paper Kroger bag with a six-week-old kitten inside."

The post went on to say that the tiny kitten was identified as a male and named Toby.
"He received vet care and is now in a loving foster home getting lots of TLC until he is old enough to be adopted. Thank you to Carilion Clinic for saving Toby," they said.
The little tuxedo kitten was give a second chance at life, and there's something beautiful to be said about that!
Hopefully Toby finds the perfect forever home once he's old enough to be adopted.
