Woman Rescues Skittish Dog Who Finds Comfort In Her Husband's Arms

When Sarah spotted a stray dog in the woods near her farm, she knew she had to do something to help. However, catching the massive dog wouldn't be easy.

The poor pup was so skittish, she wanted nothing to do with Sarah and darted off into the woods. According to The Dodo, Sarah chased the dog through the woods, across a creek, and around the farm for some two hours before her husband showed up to help.

Miraculously, the dog quickly took to Sarah's husband and allowed him to approach her and pick her up. As soon as the dog was in her husband's arms, she melted into him and seemed to relax.

Sarah named the dog Jolene and decided to keep her and care for her. It became apparent that the poor pup was suffering from some kind of health problem as she limped and seemed in pain when walking.

After taking Jolene to the veterinarian, it was determined that the dog had severe hip problems - the worst the vet had ever seen! Thankfully, she was in good arms.

Sarah worked with Jolene and introduced her to the other family dog, Hannibal. The two large pups became fast friends and as Jolene's hips improved, her zest for life seemed to improve also.

Speaking with The Dodo, Sarah said of Jolene: "I really feel like she's completed our family."
