Firefighters are always on call ready to come to the rescue of those in need, including trapped kittens.

Coral Springs Fire Department was preparing their truck the morning of the September 11 Remembrance Ceremony when they discovered a stuck kitten. The crew members immediately responded and were able to safely remove the adorable kitten. 

They shared the rescue story on Facebook and wrote, "During this morning’s September 11 Remembrance Ceremony, our crews received an unexpected rescue assignment when a tiny kitten found itself stuck on our very own platform truck." 

The tiny kitten's story doesn't end there. 

"Our firefighters safely brought the little guy back down to solid ground, and the story gets even better: a spectator attending the ceremony decided to give him a forever home."

The new family is leaning towards "Hero" for a name. 

The post concluded with, "Safe to say, he picked a pretty good day to hang out with the fire department." We couldn't agree more. 

An update from the kitten's family revealed that Hero is actually a girl. They said, "Turns out our 'little guy' is actually a little girl! She had her vet visit this morning and is healthy, thriving, and settling beautifully into her new home. Thank you again to CSFD for rescuing our tiny Hero...we absolutely adore her already!"
