Koda is an Interesting Mix but it's His Winning Personality that Makes Him So Darn Irresistible!

Pima Animal Care Center

Sometimes, for whatever reason, we just can't seem to catch a break in life. Sometimes it's fleeting, while other times it seems as if it's habitual. That's kind of how Koda is feeling right now. Incredibly handsome, this 66 lb. fella is a neutered mix with 10 different breeds identified in his genetic makeup.

That's right, Koda has been gene tested, and he's also clear of 30 genetic conditions that could have otherwise impacted his health.

The staff at Pima Animal Care Center thinks he's about 4 years old, so he's still a young guy, but he's been with them for a year now and understandably wants to go home.
Koda has been waiting for a family far longer than any of his fans could have imagined. Just look at the many rave reviews that have been given about this sweet, sweet boy.

Adoptable Rescue Dog

"Koda was the star of the Home Show today. He greeted the public with his mellow personality. Men, women, children, wheelchairs, other dogs - nothing bothered him. Koda spent the full 5 hours moving through the exhibits, making friends, and going up on stage for a quick presentation — and he tolerated me dressing him up. He really is an all-around great dog!"

"Koda is so well-behaved and sweet and wonderful. It's unbelievable he's still here. He loves to show off his signature "paw" move, has a soft mouth, is affectionate, mellow, easygoing, and just overall perfect."

"I'm in love with Koda. He's always so happy and well-behaved. He's been at PACC for such a long time, but his spirit is still high. Always a perfect gentleman."

"Koda is such a dream to leash up and walk. He's a sweet boy who doesn't let anything get in the way of a good walk and lots of pets! Highly recommend spending time with Koda!"

"I adore this good boy. He's been in the shelter a long time and has remained even-tempered and well-behaved. He loves his walks, responds to his handler very well, knows his name, knows sit, and loves getting treats, which he takes very politely. I love his cute blockhead and boxer face, which usually has an adorably grumpy expression (resting grumpy face?). I believe he will make a great loyal companion in the right home."

"Koda was great with a new guest walker today. He was very comfortable meeting a new friend and immediately asked for pets in his usual affectionate manner. He is so good with his "sit" and "paw" while he waits patiently to be rewarded with a treat. I am always happier after I spend time with Koda."

Doggy Foster Care

During a brief stay in a foster home Koda was house-trained, loved to sleep on the bed near his people, and loved stuffed toys. His foster described him as easygoing and said that he loves leisurely walks and taking naps. He was a bit too interested in the resident cat, though!

Koda is ready to be the best ranch hand (or suburbanite) you've ever seen! When meeting other dogs in playgroup, Koda was social and tolerant. He'd like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it's a good fit. He's young, energetic, and ready to be your best friend 'til the cows come home. Ask about him today!!

If you are interested in adopting this pet, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov for an adoption application or with additional questions. He's in Kennel D052, and his ID# is A761694. Please share this sweet boy to help improve his chances of finding forever love that much sooner. Check out his video below.
