Amid all the devastation and loss in Ukraine are compassionate people caring for stray dogs. 

A stray mama dog had a safe place to live thanks to locals who built her a doghouse where she gave birth to her precious puppies. 

Sadly, she was struck and killed by a car shortly after and left her puppies orphaned. Her puppies were waiting for their mama to come back, but she would never return.

Their caretakers were heartbroken when they found the mama dog deceased and knew her puppies needed help. They would never have survived on their own.

Krystina, owner of Under the Sun Shelter, and her team came to their rescue and bottle fed them round the clock until they were old enough to eat dog food.

She took them in despite having over 250 dogs at her shelter, thanks to your continued support. 

After months of constant care, the puppies are thriving and full of energy. They love to play, run, and wrestle, as puppies should. Krystina told us that they are now vaccinated and ready to find loving homes. 

These puppies survived thanks to people who refused to walk away. Their story started with tragedy, but the next chapter is filled with hope.
