Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, is no stranger to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. For decades, he's been fulfilling wishes for kids suffering from terminal illnesses.
Now, he's taking things to another level and gaining a new claim to fame. To celebrate his recent birthday, Jordan is donating $10 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the largest donation received from an individual in Make-A-Wish history.

Michael Jordan has been heavily involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation since he became a supporter back in 1989. In the press release, the company explained that "he has granted hundreds of wishes to children all over the world, becoming one of the all-time most requested celebrity wish granters. He remains one of the organizations most popular wish requests."
They added, "In 2008, he was named Make-A-Wish Chief Wish Ambassador for the life-changing impact he has had on wish kids and their families."
Michael Jordan made a statement in the press release and said:
"For the past 34 years, it's been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids. Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration. I can't think of a better birthday gift than seeing others join me in supporting Make-A-Wish so that every child can experience the magic of having their wish come true."
The money from the donation will go to "create an endowment to provide the funds needs to make future wishes possible for kids with critical illnesses."
