Dog Reunites With Family After 301 Days In The Shelter
One of the most difficult things a family can go through is losing a dog. It only takes a moment of distraction and before you know it, they are gone.
We may spend a lot of time looking for them and trying to bring them back home, but as the days go by, we begin to lose hope. It's always a beautiful thing when we can bring them home, but it's unbelievably sad when we can't.
That is what happened to one family in Florida, and they thought their dog was gone forever. In fact, they were convinced that she had died.
Little did they know, however, that their pitbull mix named Juicee was alive and doing well after being brought to the Austin Animal Center. She was a stray when she came into the shelter in June 2022.
Like many shelters, the Austin Animal Shelter posts pictures on social media of the dogs in their care. A friend of the family spotted a picture that looked an awful lot like Juicee on the Spanish-language Facebook page Mascotas de Austin and shared it with her family.
According to the Austin Animal Center, after the family learned that Juicee was alive, they hopped in the car and drove more than 20 hours to be with the dog again.
When they arrived, they told the volunteers at the Austin Animal Center that a neighbor told them the dog was dead. They don't have any other information and we would only be guessing if we tried to say more.
You can see Juicee leaving the kennel for the last time in the video. She can't wait to get to her family and excitedly jumps on them right away.
Even the volunteers at the shelter loved the dog while she was staying there. She was kept at a shelter for 301 days, and was a favorite among many.
When they first brought Juicee to the shelter, she wasn't very comfortable with strangers. When she got around her family, however, it was obvious she was with people she loved.
I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999. When you can't find me at the keyboard, you'll find me getting as much as I can out of life. I enjoy living simply, playing games, visiting the beach, and spending time with my family.
