Thousands of dogs roam the war-torn streets of Ukraine or are found abandoned on destroyed properties. Their homes destroyed, families dead or left without them, as they cower in fear from the wave of Russian attacks.

Safety is a word they have long forgotten - they are in survival mode. Krystina, owner of Under the Sun Shelter, continues to head to the frontlines alongside Lala, founder of 12 Guards, to save as many animals as possible. 

During a recent mission they found a Moscow Watchdog abandoned in an outdoor kennel. Despite all the suffering she has endured, the large dog wagged her tail to greet rescuers. 

She leaped up with excitement to look out the gate that had contained her for so long. Help had finally arrived and she couldn't be happier. 

Her gentle and loving demeanor resulted in her quickly finding a loving home abroad with Claudia, a friend and supporter of Under the Sun Shelter. 

Krystina shared the happy news that the sweet dog now named "Bambi" found a home in Germany with Claudia who runs the Tierhilfe Animal Welfare Foundation and said, "not long ago she also donated a vehicle to our shelter. Thanks to this vehicle, we are now able to transport our rescued dogs to their new families in Europe." 

It is clear from the photos that Claudia and Bambi are already friends and a perfect match. There is so much joy and love between the two. Bambi is finally home. 

Her days are now filled with delicious food, walks, and naps on a soft bed. She is living her best life.
