New Hampshire Police Dog & Officer Take A Break To Sled Down Hill
All work and no play make for a boring day, especially for a dog training to be a Community Resource K9 officer.
Newmarket Police Department posted a video of Lt. Wayne Stevens and cadet dog Gadget taking a break from work to enjoy a snowy day in New Hampshire.
The video was captioned, "Shhhh don’t tell The Chief".
The hard-working duo paused to slide down a hill together on a green plastic sled as children squealed with delight in the background.
One person commented, "I feel like this probably counts for training hours. Who knows when Gadget may have to sled to a victim to bring comfort!"
Gadget is a smart pup who loves to learn new skills and enjoys interacting with people. He as trained by the non-profit Assistance Canine Training Services (ACTS) and lived with a loving family for two years learning how to be a good boy in all situations. He now lives with his partner, Lt. Stevens, who continues with his training.
He is already a beloved member of the community and a support dog at the local high school. He has his photo in the yearbook and his very own school ID.
Gadget is great at his job, which is to bring a smile to the face of everyone he meets. His official duties include comforting his fellow officers and people visiting the department, appear at local schools for comfort and education events, and engage with the community at public events.
Check out the video below of him sledding with his partner and see why it is making the day of everyone who watches it. Don't forget to share!
