Pilot Hands Out Hundreds Of Roses To Passengers On Mother's Day

Being a mother can often be a thankless role, filled with countless responsibilities and sacrifices that often go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Mothers tirelessly give their time, energy, and love to their children, often putting their own needs and desires on the back burner. They juggle multiple roles as caregivers, educators, nurturers, and more, working around the clock with little respite.

Despite that, their efforts can be taken for granted, with their daily acts of care and selflessness being viewed as the norm rather than something to be acknowledged.

Even on Mother's Day, many moms go unappreciated and unrecognized. A pilot working with American Airlines decided to do something about that and made an effort to touch the lives of mothers aboard his flight.

According to CBS News, Captain Russ Wayant was preparing for a route from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to New York's LaGuardia on May 14, and he personally stood outside the door of the jet to greet the women and girls entering the plane.

From there, he offered them each a rose to celebrate Mother's Day, and he even shared photos of it on Facebook. How sweet!

As it turns out, this isn't Wayant's first time offering roses to his female passengers on Mother's Day.

As CBS News reports, Wayant first got the idea to celebrate mothers on Mother's Day 11 years ago and he's been handing out flower every year since!
