Motherhood Becomes Her: A Rescue Pit Bull Finds A Second Chance at Happiness with Her Newborn Pup
"You let me know you love me
In so many different ways.
You make me feel important
With encouragement and praise.
You're always there when I need you
To comfort and to care.
I know I'm in your thoughts;
Your love follows me everywhere." ~Joanna Fuchs, You Let Me Know You Love Me
Poetry like this has human moms as inspiration.
But these loving words can be dedicated to animal mothers as well, whose love is just as exceptional and heartwarming. We know of many mothers in the animal kingdom who do their best to raise their young ones even to the point of sacrificing themselves for their survival.
And this story of a pit bull, whose rescuers were unaware that she was pregnant at the time of the rescue operation, will tug at the heart of everyone who believes that this dog breed deserves a chance to live peacefully in our world.
Pit bulls have long been suffering at the hands of irresponsible and violent humans, who often use them in dog fights and other unethical activities. In addition to those woes, many people have the mistaken notion that pitties are a very dangerous breed. There are even states which have imposed bans on pit bulls as if these animals were to blame for all incidents of attacks and aggression.
On the issue of pit bulls, Cesar Millan stated on his Official Facebook Page: "People often say that pit bulls have a more intense rage than other breeds when they are aggressive. There's no doubt that we can feel the difference between an aggressive pit bull and, say, an aggressive chihuahua. Sure, pit bulls are programmed to be intense, but I believe there's another side to that. Balanced pit bulls have a more intense love than other breeds. If you transform the way their intensity is directed, then you will get back an intense love. The good should not be seen as less intense than the bad. Sure, a pit bull can do more damage to someone, but at the same time, they can use that same intensity to love someone."
And pure love is what you will see in this rescue pit bull who could have given birth to a large litter considering her more than 27-kilogram weight, but only one puppy was born.
And yet, there's almost nothing you can compare to the sweetness of her love for this baby.
Watching this video will make you wish that the world would welcome both mother and puppy with the affection and warmth that our own hearts are capable of.

For more than 20 years now, I’ve been devoting my heart, energy, and time to fulfilling my dream, which – many people may agree – is not among the easiest aspirations in life. Part of my happiness is having been able to lend a hand to many individuals, companies, and even governments as an investigative journalist, creative writer, TV director, and radio broadcaster.
At home, I spend my free time learning how to cook various cuisines. Tiramisu, chocolate mousse, and banoffee pie are my favorite desserts. Playing with our dogs, Mushu and Jerusalem, is also a special part of my day. And, of course, I read a lot – almost anything under the sun. But what really makes me feel alive is meeting people from various walks of life and writing about their stories, which echo with the tears and triumph of an unyielding spirit, humanity, and wisdom.
