Playful Romie Has a 5-Star Review from His Adoring Fan Base

Pima Animal Care Center

Meet Romie, a handsome young devil that's been waiting out the stay for his forever home at the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. The shelter staff there have made a number of observations about this playful pup based on input from a temporary foster caregiver he stayed with for a while. This is what they had to say about him.

"Romie is a handsome boy who is back at the shelter following a couple of months in a foster home. Romie originally came to PACC as a stray, so we've learned so much about him from his time in foster! The following is their input based on their time with him."

Foster Pets

"Romie is the best mix of playful and super sweet. Morning is his absolute favorite time of day, but whether you're an early morning riser or like to sleep in, Romie is on board. No matter what, he is ready to greet you with his morning zoomies and playful bows showing how happy he is to be in your presence.

"He loves soft toys that he can pick apart, a ball he can chase, or a bone he can chew for hours. The outdoors is his happy place, so if you are looking for an adventure buddy, Romie is your boy. He is eager to please, and super food motivated (who isn't?!).

"Quick to learn, Romie is leash trained and will stop at every corner and sit, without command, patiently waiting until you say "ok" to safely cross the street. He is mastering "heal" and "leave it" and loves to look up at you while you're walking to make sure you know he's being a good boy. He's also the king of "sit," "stay," "wait," "down," and "up" when he hears them."

"Romie is sweet and gentle and melts for neck scritches. Very aware, his tail wags anytime you talk to him or say his name. While he's had a rough life until now, he's even worked up to belly rubs, and he'll give you gentle kisses for showing him it's okay to be loved.

"While not necessarily a cuddler, he's quite affectionate and gives kisses and enjoys laying his head on your lap. He's also a fan of playing tug-of-war or fetch chasing after balls. After breakfast, Romie usually naps until afternoon, with some occasional breaks to come say hi and get pets and lovin'.

"In the evening, Romie likes to play with his toys. Loving, sweet, and attentive, for all that he's been through in his short life, he is a great dog. I felt so lucky to foster him. Excited about life and eager to please, he's just a good boy all around that would be a great long-term companion."
