Police Officer Performs Random Act Of Kindness For Kids At The Lake
A police officer in Hinsdale, Massachusetts is being anonymously recognized for the random act of kindness she performed for kids at the lake.
The police sergeant was at Plunkett Lake when she noticed around 12 kids enjoying their time on shore. It was a sunny day and she wanted to spread a little joy, so she got a box of ice pops to pass out.
All in all, the police sergeant handed out ice pops to all the kids at the beach that evening, and she did it simply for the joy of being kind.
Berkshire County Sheriff's Office shared about the kind deed on Facebook, writing:
"On Tuesday afternoon while enjoying the weather and water at Plunkett Lake, a Hinsdale Police Sergeant took the time to bring a box of ice pops for all of about 12 kids that were on the beach that evening. She showed up offering every kid a pop without any pictures or recognition and deserves a genuine thank you for that kind gesture."
They went on to say:
"This is what community is all about! Small acts of kindness that forever leave an ever lasting impression on our future generations. No photos, no selfies, just simply doing what they are here for, supporting the community they swore to protect and serve!"
The officer didn't have to do anything but her enjoy her own time at the lake, but she went out of her way to help others and make the world a little better and that's a beautiful thing.
It's truly amazing what a ripple effect a small act of kindness can have.
