A dog living on the streets of Houston was rescued and he needed assistance. After being taken off the streets, he was put into a foster home where his mother was more than willing to give him the necessary TLC.

According to The Dodo, Boomer had been living on the streets for quite some time and fostering him required patience because he had to learn how to be a house dog.

It all started when Samantha Zimmer, working along with her husband, was working hard to rescue dogs from the streets before a cold snap happened in Houston. They formed Street Life to the Sweet Life, and set out to rescue four dogs in the parking lot, one of them being Boomer.

The trap didn't work the first day they said it but on the second day, some friends were able to get Boomer off the streets. Samantha decided to take care of Boomer on her own and foster him.

As shared by The Dodo, one of the first things she noticed about the dog was that he was timid. He wouldn't come through the threshold, almost as if there was something at the door holding him back.

There was something that Samantha knew about Boomer, however, and she was willing to use it. When he gets nervous, he holds out his paw and wants it held. You can see it in the video where he holds it out to Samantha as he is frozen on the threshold.

Boomer trusted her but it took a little coaxing before he was willing to come through the threshold. That was then, but about a month later, Boomer was already enjoying cuddling on the couch and it wasn't long before he was ready to be adopted.
