If you love rescue pets as much as we do, you might be excited at the prospect of voting for the cutest pooch among 10 finalists for this year's People's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest Presented by the Pedigree brand.

That's right, 10 adopted dogs are competing for the crown, and you get to put your two cents in by voting for your favorite. The 10 finalists were chosen from literally thousands of entries, so you know it must have been tough whittling them down to just 10.

Rescue Dogs Rock

As with all contests, only one will walk away as the ultimate winner, and this one will receive the contest's grand prize, which should tickle its owner(s) absolutely pink. Because it was tough enough narrowing them down, the mag wants readers to help make the final cut down to three.

Canine lovers can vote here between August 25 and September 22 to make their voice be heard.

The three contestants receiving the most votes will then move forward to the final round of judging, where MuttNation Foundation co-founder and celebrity judge Miranda Lambert, editors from People, and members of the Pedigree brand will choose the grand prize winner.

That fabulous pupper will be rewarded with a custom photo shoot, a feature in People Magazine AND People.com, a year's supply of dog food from Pedigree, as well as a $1,000 donation to the animal rescue organization of the winner's choice.

Rescue Dog Contest

All 10 dogs are incredibly cute, making the judges' difficult jobs that much harder — and that includes you. Narrowing it down to your three favorites would be easier, but that's not your choice. You get one pick, and the top three voted pooches advance.

Personally, Skye and her piercing eyes is our favorite, but it's a tough call. According to People, "Skye was found in a dumpster and brought to a high-kill shelter. Luckily, she was adopted by a devoted first-time rescue pet parent dedicated to making the pup's life fantastic. Skye, named after her stunning blue eyes, is a mix of Siberian husky, miniature Schnauzer, Labrador retriever, and Australian cattle dog."

Stiff Competition

Then there's also Ricky, Hobie, and Roomba to consider, so we're back to square one. But that's our problem, not yours. For a full list of dogs with their pictures and descriptions, you'll have to click on the voting link furnished above. Good luck!
